not so sure, I believe they've set it up so you "shouldn't" be able to load various ipods

though I recently bought a replacement ipod and had no problem loading it.
I think the determining factor could be whether it's assigned to another copy of itunes on a different computer. You should have no problem at all, but even if you do there are ways around it.
