You admire Maidstone for not standing in his way, they then have to watch as Fulham's 18 months of 'development' make them a 6.5 million profit (though to be fair, Smalling did only play 12 times for the Stones so they can hardly claim to have developed him much themselves!)

Fuggin' Fulham don't even appear to have taken the easy route, i.e offering to visit them for a pre-season friendly.
