Hull relegated as Dowie appinted

The Premier League has deducted 20 points from Hull City following the appointment of new boss Iain Dowie.
A spokesman for the league said the punitive measure was to "put Hull City fans out of their misery now".
He added: "There is absolutely no point in Hull fans clinging to the belief that safety is achievable.
"Their hopes were already hanging by a thread, but this appointment confirms their relegation, so we thought we'd get it over with in as humane a way as possible."
A spokesman for Hull said: "Yeah, fair enough, we're f**king idiots."
