JCC: thank Mr C for bringing him up last night

(although I'm sure he's cropped up here before). Saw him a couple of times way back in the 80s - in Lincoln once, so might even have been the lates 70s.

Yeah, Swells went by the name of Susan Williams on occasion: on stage (complete with dress years before Eddie Izzard) and in the NME. One of the best writers they ever had in my opinion. In the 90s, he also tried to start publishers called Attack! if I recall correctly - published a few books & disappeared - can't even find the website these days (used to be linked on the Creation Records site I think).
