Yes I think so - I know he used to write for The Day Today so would make sense.

David Quantick used to write for the NME as well, but wasn't as funny.

The Wells stuff is actually a bit disappointing on that tape - has it's moments, but not as good as the Rising Sons of Ranting Verse (with Little Brother on the other side). The Kevin Seisay (Braggesque) & Ginger John (Attilla the Stockbroker-esque) stuff is pretty good though.

Searching on Nick Toczek I found User Posted Link - totally different to the stuff on the tape, but I assume it's the same guy. Check out the kids football poetry - for example:

Football crazy
Football mad
Put them all together
You have a perfect fan.
