haha I use much the same

with a couple of variants of cv to go with it. Although tbh I'm still not quite sure of how much more successful - sometimes I'd just do a 'what the hell' and throw out my cv with minimal cover info and get through.

From the other end though I'd always reject people who couldn't be arsed to say why they were applying!
