rationally, agree with all that. Except

the weird thing is that whenever we bring out a new kit, I can't help getting a bit excited. And I start thinking that this time, I might actually go out and buy it (which fortunately I very rarely do).

Strange. Something to do with that excitement about kits from childhood I think. Never quite goes away, at least in my case.
