do you spend money repairing levees just in case a hurricane MIGHT happen or do you spend money fighting terrorists who have ALREADY killed thousands of your countrymen? Yes experts said the hurricane might happen but then it also might not have happened. If the hurricane had never happened many would have praised him for diverting the money to a greater cause. Just like our coastal defences really, they are not up to the job either, shoudl we spend millions on them or are there more urgent priorities? I was going to say damned if you do and damned if you don't but thought is inappropriate! Shit I just said it anyway, sorry, no offence meant.

Personally of course I'd have fixed the levees but its easy to make that decision with the benefit of hindsight and of being a good few thousand miles away.
