all our passing from defence was poor last week

but you see I'm a simple soul, and in the first instance I rate a defender on how well they defend. Nelson's passing was seriously woeful and played us into trouble; Rose didn't and covered a lot when others didn't. He was single-handedly manning the left a lot of the time - so some of his 'misplaced' passes were down simply to the fact that there was no-one there. Our entire midfield in the first half wanted to shift to the right so the whole balance was wrong, and in those circumstances I thought he did well.
