Locked out but in

A pal of mine arrives at his girlfriends at 9.00am after a long overnight shift driving trains to get some kip.

He opens up the porch
Puts down bag outside porch
Steps inside porch to open up front door forgetting keys are in porch door
Porch door slams shut and locks itself
Keys are outside
His bag with water and phone is outside
He is locked inside the porch
The house front door and porch are both away from the road and the road is very quiet, and there are little or no passers by to attract attention.
Girlfriend is not due back from work until late afternoon.
He does not dare break the porch door.
It?s summer and the front of the house gets sun and he was a mini greenhouse for 9 hours before she turned up.
