I did that a couple of years ago. Left the keys inside. The people who have spare keys are

Wife - was in the UK with her mother
Mother-in-law - see above
Sister-in-law - was on holiday in Italy
Next-door neighbours - Were back with family in Denmark
Cleaner - phone number was on a bit of paper in the house

I had to knock on the other neighbour's door, go upstairs in his house, climb out of the window, across my first floor roof and break the bathroom window with a hammer.

As I broke it I discovered it was not only the sole double-glazed window in the whole house (listed building so can't double-glaze), but was also what they call "church glass" which, to put it simply is FUCKING EXPENSIVE.

I have never ever made the same mistake again.
