Say 10 years ago there was only one reason for buying a Mac which was if you were doing something graphical - video, DTP, CAD etc.

The software and peripherals available at that point were far less sophisticated than the stuff available for Windows.

I remember we had a Mac version of the software we sold at the company I was working for. 400 developers on DOS and Windows. The Mac product line had 3, part-time.
