respect my arse! what the f**k is it with yanks and "time outs"?

time out? is the yank brain incapable of dealing with playing a simple uninterrupted game of sport? 3 periods? what the f**k is the sense in that? two halves yes, that is perfectly sensible as both teams benefit/suffer from any advantage or disadvantage that may come from playing intot he wind uphill etc but three periods? on flat ice? madness. and time outs? wtf is the point of building an exciting spectacle and then interrupting it to stifle the flow?
