FAO pingers/ Alex Chilton

pingers (also addressed to Alex, because the old nutter is as likely to be sitting in an cybercafe in Brazil reading this board as he is to be anywhere else... gotta love him!)

I heard this from The World's Biggest Chilton fan. It'll be on an Alex message board somewhere. He lives in NOLA.. has done for many many years.. in one of the wilder sides of town too, from what I hear.. and though he chooses when to be in contact with most of the world.. he does have regular contact with enough people who will have been checking up on him in the last few days.

He can be an obstreperous and contrary so-and-so, but he wouldn't willingly or willfully not tell people he was safe.

BTW.. new Big Star album due this month. It would be ironic if we've lost him -- the least publicity-conscious musician in *history* hypes new material by going missing. You couldn't make it up.
