Martin is off form too - seems like he's listened to his own hype after winning the POTM award.

Lappin was poor, but was out of position - playing central midfield but covering for your wandering non-defensive left winger is great if you're Gary Holt, but not if that's not your game.

I still believe that's the main reason Rose was poor - horribly exposed all game by whoever was supposed to be in front of him. Southend saw this and targeted him, making it worse.
