Ta for that. As it goes, I read it after spending some hours giylfing Freesat and had kind of veered into a feeling that I wouldn't bother getting it after all. This is mostly because I was alarmed to read that some of the major wicked-little-box manufacturers aren't convinced it's going to last, and that some are planning on waiting and doing Freeview HD instead. Freeview HD? Boggling, but still, I'd hate to buy a Betamax, if you get my drift.

I've got plenty of boxes under my telly already and planning what'd plug into what made my head spin a bit. So I thought, if I can get a DVD recorder that has Freesat built in, then that's two probs solved (1. no increase in number of boxes, 2. I'd be rid of that fecking Philips s**te that's there now) but then found that such boxes are still prohibitively expensive, especially given my first paragraph above.

Humax DO sell a cheaper box than the one you bought - ?130 at Comet online - and I was almost tempted: reviews said the picture is fantastic *but* also that the menus are clunky. I'm so easily irritated by dumbarse technology that the picture'd have to cause involuntary orgasms to make up for no Page Down on your Programme Guide etc.

If anyone's still reading: I'm still undecided.
