My one overiding memory of the day, apart from how poor we were, was after the game we were all basically ferried to the park behind the back of the away end whilst the police basically pushed & shoved us about and the Brighton fans walked past taunting. There was a Brighton fan on crutches giving it large waving his crutches in the air and he got smacked square on the head by an orange launch from the massed ranks of Norwich - the least the t**t deserved

Even back then huge followings generally equalled even bigger disappointment on the pitch. I also present Derby away in the 5th Round the following year.
