Had to visit ipswich today and .................... ....

clearly it's 'Town' status has always been annoyance to the population because at every opportunity they try to obtain 'City' status but clearly her Majesty is having none of it. But today gave me a bigger laugh and even more proof of Ipswich's chip on its shoulder. The welcome to ipswich type sign on the side of the road has an additional sign appended to it which proudly states 'A University Town'. Now forgive me but if you need to tell people that then you probably haven't got a University at all its just a college calling itself a University! What else could they add? 'Nearly a City' or 'Trying to become a City' or 'A Town with a Bus Station'.
