i always do that

first though, i like to drill the hole too small and then the rawlplug gets stuck half in/half out and one of two things then happens: either i pull the rawlplug and half the wall out with a pair of pliers or, second thing, i use a stanley knife to slice off the stickyoutrawlplug bit and there's always a bit protruding that squishes and makes the shelf uneven. DIY master of the universe me.
