Even at 1-0 up I wasn't confident today. Today was our ?9000 at Palace? game, with the biggest away turnout of the season (officially, not including Colchester), a tough opposition who were in form and without our Captain.
I called where Super Chris would hit the free-kick which impressed the girl next to me no end but after that it only looked a matter of time before Millwall would score. Our best period of the game was the last 15 minutes of the first half where we played some nice stuff, but didn't really threaten their goal.
The second was a disappointing goal to lose, but we've had the benefit this season of so many opposition forwards who can't shoot straight, we can hardly complain when a chance is tucked away by someone who can.
We've played three and a half games without Holt and have gained nine points which is a great return. Even with him, three wins in four games would have been considered promotion form.
Holt will be back next week which will take pressure off Hoolahan and also the midfield as the ball hasn't been sticking much up front since he's been suspended.
I've always been of the opinion that one should never over-react in defeat and in victory we should keep our feet on the ground. Some of the hysterical rubbish on the PinkUn message board yesterday evening defies belief, with all the Monday morning quarterbacks out in force as a result of our first defeat in bleedin' ages.
The run was always going to come to an end sometime. The key is how City react to it, and I?m confident that Lambert and the team will bounce back at Brighton.
