I just find the idea that a supermarket is a theme park annoying

Here you are darling. Take this trolley and go racing down the aisle and see how many shoppers you can get. I'll see you back in about half an hour.

And most of the mother and baby parking spaces are taken by blondes in 4wds with a token baby seat, but no baby. But that's acceptable because they do have children.

I actually prefer to park away from the shop so that I don't have to deal with people spending half an hour assembling their child carrying device whilst leaving all car doors open and doing the ultimate hatchet-faced look at anyone who might want to get back into their own car.

But perhaps Waitrose in Cambridge is just particularly unpleasant.
