Well the Kindle has been a big success, costs the same and only does ebooks

People said the iPhone would fail as no one would pay ?200 for a phone.

2 years later and they've sold millions.

I was initially sceptical when I read the articles but the more I think about it the more uses I can see for it.

I only really use my laptop for email, web browsing and MSN. I don't "need" a laptop to do those tasks, the iPad would work just fine.

I could also use one to take notes in meetings where carrying a bulky laptop would be too much hassle.

It might not be immediately obvious but I think people will soon buy into the iPad as a new way to do the things they thought they needed a laptop for.
