So what's the Wrath Verdict on Catcher in the Rye?
I don't understand why it is hailed as such a masterpiece. All these people saying what a significant book it was for them when they realised how closely they identified with Holden ... a mystery to me. I read it and thought "What a loser, stop whining and get a life". And I found the prose very flat and dull. Shows why I was right not to pursue a career as a literary agent, I suppose.
