Thought I?d give you an answer to your tax question as the answers weren?t entirely true/up to date/clear.

It depends on what tax year you want to claim back. (You can claim back 5 years as someone said).

The 2007-08 personal allowance was ?5,225 for most people
The 2008-09 personal allowance was ?6,035 for most people
Then next year 09-10 the personal allowance is ?6,475

To claim it back you need to get the P60 for the required years and payslips also help if available. Write in a letter how much you think is overpaid in tax and send it with the evidence to your local tax office. They will check it and send you the rebate.
