It depends on the resolution of the video (number of pixels wide and tall)

and the bit rate.

But for reference, I've got series one of Been Hoomun on my iPhone, and each episode (hour long - so same length os the Wire) varies between 250MB to 350MB.

Guess at 300Mb average per episode, you're looking at somewhere between 3 to 4 GB for a whole series of The Wire, as a very rough approximation.
