It was like a sandpit with odd bits of grass poking through.

It was boggy and cut up like anything. You expected the ball to bounce sometimes and it just died as soon as it hit the pitch. Very tricky to play on, but then the boys had good practice at Colchester!

It was obvious they were missing Holty tonight, no-one really knew what to do with it going forward... you just missed Holty making his darting runs back and forth, finding space and running at the oppo.

Not the usual footballing fare we've been treated to of late, but no matter, history will show we got 3 points at Walsall (A).
