Greetings. Mick Dennis here. I know I'm not everyone's favourite, but I do care about the same club as you and I was composing a message on here when the club statement dropped.
I was about to say that I was pretty sure the NotW have got the story entirely wrong -- and we're not about to go skint.
Now David McN has said what we all wanted to hear, but let me elaborate a little.
The Norwich accounts talked about two loans being rescheduled so that interest becomes payable on May 31 rather than Nov 09 and Dec 09. There was no mention of major payments scheduled for Jan so the idea of Thursday representing some critical moment was fanciful.
The auditors passed the accounts and, in doing so, were legally obliged to report any doubts about the ability of the club to continue trading. They did express doubts -- in a "emphasis of matter" note, that there was no guarantee the directors' planned actions will necessarily succeed in making monies available to repay interest after May 2010.
In other words, the auditors certainly did not foresee a crisis in January.
Lastly, I know how journalists work. I think Martin Hardy has seen, or been told, of a winding up listing about "NCFC" -- and not realised that it is for Notts County.
So we all breathe again and I'll make my third attempt to see Walsall v Norwich on Tues.
