i found germany a suffocating place to live. they are too regulated. i bought my own house and was sent a letter from the statd telling me that i had put the number to my house too high. it had to be at least so many centimetres from ground level but no to exceed 180 centimetres above ground level and must not be obscured from street level by foliage or blah blah blah. three pages. of how to put your house number up. and a bloke came round to check.
