A few points arising from highlights/reruns/and the SSN inquisition I've just seen on SSN.
Sam Allardyce is a sore, sore loser.
1) Shouldn't Villa have been given a free kick for shoving (a tactic adopted by 2 separate Blackburn players) on their keeper in the buildup to corner that led to the first goal? Or is it okay to persistently shove players in the back with no comeback?
2) Nelson fell over from the merest of touches for the first goal. None of the replay angles have shown it to be any more than that but Shearer and Big Sam make out like it was the turning point of the whole game. My take on it would be that Nelson realised he couldn't head the ball as the flight of it was behind him so he took a fall in order to drag Agbonlahor down with him and prevent him getting a free header from a yard. Its a kind of simulation isn't it? Yellow card for Nelson and penalty to Villa for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity I'd have thought. Luckily ref played on and Villa scored. SSN have just shown Crouch not getting a penno last night in which that ugly Greek fella did the same thing. After holding Crouch (2 of them had him round the waist) ugly Greek fella over on purpose which dragged Crouch down with him. I've seen it a lot but its a phenomenon that has not been mentioned in of itself to my knowledge... I.e. a defender feigns a heavy push in order to deliberately fall into a players path and drag him down.
Am i right? Am i right?
