He's not beyond criticism. He was a bad choice as manager.

But he was a big part of one of our club's most successful and happiest periods. Both for what he did on the pitch, and also his relationship with the fans.

So the idea that he should now be some kind of villain, unwelcome even to come to matches, just because of an unhappy six-month spell as manager - well, it just shows the worst side of football fans.
