1. That pitch. Great to see football played in mud again! Seriously-thought those days were well behind us, clearly not, some of the small clubs with spartan facilities are clearly still offering 1970's type conditions and thats marvellous! And-I bet Colchester really, REALLY wanted the match to go ahead, thinking that those fancy dan Norolk boys would be slipping, sliding and crying all over the place. Ha! Dream on!
2. CUFC team. Nice gathering of thugs and pseudo-hardmen in there. Amused when Izzet (as in "Izzet a footballer?") had a go at Martin, Martin rears up over him in response, and, visibly and amusingly, Izzet s**ts his pants. Nice one.
3. Russell. Now that was a game made for him to get sent off in. Utterly amazed that he didn't, and, by God, he was enjoying himself. Holt will probably get POTS, but Russell should be up there as well if he carries on as he is.
4. Lambert as the panto villan, "booo, hiss, he's behind you"-he played it 100% and clearly enjoyed every minute of it. There is a Martin O'Neill aura about him, he won't be with us for long at this rate, but, get us up, get us establised as a top 6 CCC club and we'll love you forever-but hey, only leave for Celtic, Man Utd, Liverpool, that sort of club, OK?
5. Chris Martin. Have rarely seen such a swing in the fortunes and form of a Norwich player. Shipped out to Luton, not even acknowledged as a Norwich player by Roeder, now look at him-playing well, full of confidence and a finisher par excellence. CCC football, next season, well, thats a step up for him, but the priority is surely to give him a new contract ASAP, luckily, like most of the team, I suspect he is loving it at the moment, and, although he may well, like Lambert, move on eventually, it won't be for a while yet.
6. NCFC fans at the game yesterday. Magnificent, I salute you all-noisy, passionate and funny! Brilliant.
7. Colchester United. Lets move on now.
