Its going to be rammed in the Norfolk, so here are some alternatives you'll find as you walk down North Station Road in the direction of the Town Centre:

The Albert Beer - Beefeater restaurant but they have a bar.

The Victoria - They sell beer and thats about all to recommend it. Even the locals don't drink here!

Quilters/The River Lodge Beer - Large place with big screen Sky. No real ale.

Ye Old Marquis Beer - Sky TV, pool, food, London Pride ale.

Wig & Pen Beer - On the High St right in middle of town. Sky TV, food & shoppers.

Fat Cat Beer - Best CAMRA pub in Colchester. Loads of real ales. Landlord is a Norwich fan with family links to Fat Cat Norwich. Far side of town on Butt Rd so best to either park in Town or get a taxi if coming by train.
