No shock, semi leaving. who is next?

Only used by Lambert until he could bring in better players and Spillane returned from injury.

Probably on decent wages so makes perfect sense to shift him as Lambert had zero intention of re-signing him.

The fact saints only signed him for 6 months shows they dont rate him that highly either.
Only as cover for the injured Murty.

Who next?

The obvious favs are Cureton and Theo because of their wages.

The problem with both is that a lower level club may not take on their wages.

Whaley is obviously up for transfer.

Again we dont know how big his wages are.

The clue was that he did well at Rochdale but they said they could not afford to keep him on loan.

I am guessing we paid part of his wages there to start.

It does look like McVeigh is done but he is probably on very small wages.
The club may keep him as cover if we hit a sticky patch of injuries.

OTJ doesnt look like he has much of a future at the club.
Where does he fit in? Maybe the base of the diamond?

If we get all the central defenders back fully match fit (Askou, Whitbread and Spillane)

I could see Lambert loaning out Nelson.

Personally I dont think Lambert rates Nelson very highly and is only playing him because of injuries (ala Semi)

I think he currently sees Doc, Whitbread and Askou as the 3 main CB's with Spillane and Stephens as cover.
