That's quite reasonable though

55 quid is alright for the kind of night out and meal you don't normally do very often.

In fact Michelin Star restaurants often aren't all that expensive, as the value for money is one of the criteria for the star.

For a really special dining experience where I live I would expect to spend over ?100 a head at least. Strangely enough when I have had dinner more than about ?150 a head it has been pretentious crap and I've needed a pizza on the way home.

PS - I have never ever paid for that latter category ! Did it about 3 times, all on the jolly.
