Why do commentators always talk about how far Ipswich are off promotion

...when they're far closer to relegation?

If it had of been Norwich, it would have been "Norwich desperate for points to get them away from relegation."

Apparently, if they win, Ipswich are a mere 10 points off the play offs....

At least it's not Roy Keane's Ipswich all the time...
