This is not a sleight against him - not at all. But Burnley simply aren't a Premiership club and whoever takes over is on a hiding to nothing.

Coyle has squeezed every last drop of effort out of that very, very ordinary squad and they will now collapse like a pack of cards - whoever is in charge.

Turning down Burnley? not the greatest sacrifice of all time really.
