because I simply don't believe that to be true. What I do think is that anyone who thinks that the board's backing for the manager is as strong as it was, or is as strong as Mr Munby claims it is, is living in La La land. The last time there was serious speculation over the manager's future - his contract was extended. The speculation over Deano's future was ended in an instant when his contract was extended. If the idea of changing the manager was really as "unthinkable" as Mr Munby then they could extend his contract by one year and that would shut us all up. But they won't, because they don't want to increase the pay-out he gets when he goes.
None of us knows how much the transfer budget is, but I bet the board weren't going to let him blow it all on Morrison. And what is the real reason for the lack of transfer activity over the last couple of weeks. Is there really no-one out there, or is the answer somewhat more mundane? A loss of trust for instance?
