We're in the Third Division, after a five year long tailspin. It isn't acceptable. We have to get real excitement and verve back into the club, and a sense we WANT to be successful. That meant throwing the kitchen sink at getting promotion, back to a league where we'll have a better chance of renegotiating loans.
And once we're there, by all means look to the youth more and more, look to live within our means in the long term. But this season's a one-off in my view. If we were following your plan, then such was the state we were in in May, we could be looking at becoming a 3rd Division club long term.
It's always about a balance - between financial reality and trying to be successful. Economic theory doesn't cut it when set against the context of where we were when we went down: it was imperative we turned it around ASAP.
