The one annoyance I saw with the iPhone (I avoided one for a year and observed others using it) was that at first people were playing with it in meetings rather than actively taking part in the discussion. But that was a phase which is over now.
I used Windows Mobile PDAs for years so have been using a lot of similar "apps" for a long time. The difference I have seen with the iPhone is simply that it is so user-friendly as far as the interface goes. Apart from the fact that I have to type in a passkey every time I unlock it, and am not permitted to jailbreak it - a security measure as I use my work email and calendar on it.
Have to say I love the iPhone.
