I think you can actually say he got us out of a rut

Unlike Worthington though, he didn't get money for his targets, so he stuck with what he knew, and he got sacked for it

When Gunn came in, he stuck with what Roeder knew, but wasn't a manager, and in doing so, not just pushed us down, but by the end, had strapped a turbo engine on the back

And then got the job
