From Saturday's game

One of the Millwall forwards would stand in an off side position behind our defence for their goal kicks, then run back in front of our defence to challenge/head the ball.

Surely he was offside when the ball was kicked and should be penalised, or am I wrong and a player coming from an offside position can get back onside?
