We'd walked to Bescot from Darlaston, as we usually do, had lunch in McD and found out it was off as we walked across to the ground. I carried on across to get a programme, just in case they issue a different one when the game's re-arranged, and found the gates to the away end open with City fans in there in their hundreds looking at the pitch. There were, rightly, many mutterings of discontent so I covered up anything incriminating and went in among them. I couldn't get right to the front but saw enough to see that most of the pitch looked playable but drifting smoke suggested there was still a brazier burning in one corner.
If it is Lambert that's responsible fot the game being called off then I hope their travelling fans give him a roasting next time they play. Everything about the stadium and it's surrounds seemed better than it had for the Orient game, and it wasn't as cold, either.
According to the Norwich O/S the 2 O'clock pitch inspection was the ONLY one.
Someone isn't telling the truth.
Well, I never.......................
