I listened to Munby on the radion last night and I actually started to worry about our situation. Munby basically said that the view was that our squad was better than the one we had two years ago. He added that therefore things had to eventually click and we would obviously get better.
I am sorry but that is complete rubbish. Football history is littered with good football squads that underperform and we cant just wait hoping that fingers crossed things have to get better.
Last year Newcatle had a far better squad than Everton but look what happened. Blackburn won the title with a worse squad than United.
Take George Burley for example. He did a good job at Ipswich, but then went stale. It didnt mean he had become a s**t manager. Things just stopped working for him. Look what he achieved at Derby and things are looking good at Hearts. Managers do go stale and that is just what has happened with us at the moment.
What we need is a spark and this can come from a new big signing, or a massive win or even a change of manager. What I dont want the board to do is sit there thinking that things will eventually come good because of how good a squad we have.
