Never seen anybody except a Hughes salesperson say that cheap HDMIs are inferior

10.2 Gbit/s is 10.2 Gbit/s no matter how much extra gold plating you put on the connectors.

Gold plating will certainly help reduce wear and tear over time, but that's only an issue if you're constantly unplugging/replacing cables.
