This trolling/self defence against it thing: is it a result of facebook/MySpace etc whereby people create an online persona, d'you think? I haven't phrased that well.
Me, I don't use any of those sites, so I don't have a Cyber Me (for want of a better alternative phrase) and when I type sommat in here it's just an old fart writing an opinion. Then, when somebody argues with it, that's all it is. My personal space isn't infringed.
I admit that on occasion I've become irrationally angry and will be striving to avoid that happening again - I'm haunted by a vision of myself sat in my back room, staring at a screen and becoming furious and filled with a desire to do violence to somebody I wouldn't recognise in the street - but even so, it's always been a case of dealing badly with a momentary irritation and not defending my personal and ongoing reputation. Have the Networking sites created a oh f**k it.
I grew bored with ^^that^^ way before I finished but carried on with it anyway. Score yourself a hundred cool points if you didn't get this far.
