Yes ? Hughes played in Russell?s position. We were a bit hesitant in the first few minutes, maybe Hughes and Martin (R) finding their feet. Adeyemi played on the left in the second half, solid but not spectacular, and Lappin moved back to LB.
The foul that crocked Drury wasn?t good, and we all winced, and as usual wondered if was going to get up from it.
Saw your t**t asking why McNamee didn?t come on. Perhaps he may have if Drury wasn?t injured and we needed to chase the game. I wouldn?t have fancied a left side of McNamee in front of Lappin away from home though.
Southend weren?t bad, nippy in attack, and thugs in midfield, maybe their new loan players were from the MK Dons.
Once we scored first, we were going to win it, but after their keeper made a wonder save from a JBA header I was starting to have my doubts. Perhaps the 3-0 flattered us, but we were well worth the win.
