Its not up to them to decide who they would like and not like as Manager. Their job is to play for this club to the best of their ability, and for whoever is in charge.
Why do they supposedly want Foley? Is it because he has always been the "good cop" to Worthington's "bad cop"? Do they sense a little slackening off if he was in charge, things a little easier, their chance to influence things a little more feasible?
Appointing Foley as Manager would be a disaster. Thats no disrespect to him, but he is a Coach, those are, and remain, his strengths. As manager, someone like Foley would have to deal with all sorts of non-coaching related bulls**t, his strength and influence would be wasted.
If the players have lost their respect for Worthington, then they need to come out and tell it to Roger, to Delia and Michael, to someone, but NOT to gather together in little cliques, all slagging him off together and taking the piss behind his back. Then it can be a case of the people who matter deciding whether to back them or very publicly back the manager.
If they can do that, if they have the balls to make their say, fair play to them. But it isn't their job to silently lurk at Colney and all decide who they'd "like" as Manager if they're not prepared to say what they think in the first place.
