Different system and wouldn't work in football, especially because

1) we don't have the college system in place and
2) the international aspect
3) the Bosman ruling

What you're not thinking of is that in your country the "kids" are playing in front of a few schoolchildren and their dads. In college sports (let's say American Football) the ones who are playing for colleges from which they might get drafted to the NFL are playing in front of crowds of more than 100,000 and on national television.

They will actually play in front of less people once they turn pro.

"Rookies", especially the top recruits, often make an immediate impact.
