I don't really follow it

The only sticking point is about compensation. They've made that clear. It's not about the approach (although that's what their fans seem to think) - if that were the case then the chairman wouldn't have allowed Lambert to talk to us - as far as I can work out that was never claimed. He wasn't happy, but he accepted it was going to happen. OK so we probably spoke off the record first but at no point did Colchester say "Norwich have made an illegal approach and they can f off - which is what normally happens in these circumstances.

It's summed up in the 'money plus players' deal - they got greedy - thinking if they let him go, they'd get far more than we were paying him, and get some other stuff into the bargain (Cureton at a guess) - and we didn't agree.

So how this can be about points deduction I just don't know. It seems to me a simple employment dispute about contract settlement, not about breaking the rules of the game. If that were the case, then managers would never change clubs.

If we get deduted points then I really would say end of football.
