so he *did* give Lambert permission to speak to us - contrary to what was suggested below. We obviously offered him the job, and he resigned.

Absolutely open-and-shut case that we needed to pay him compensation. If you don't think compensation is due in this case, when would it *ever* be due? Why would it *ever* be paid?

And we're been negotiatiing with them for 2 months because we *knew* compensation was due. But we couldn't pay what they were demanding.

What do you think we've been negotiating over for 2 months?
